Mothers Branch Hosts Women’s Advent Day of Reflection
In preparation for the Advent season, the Schoenstatt San Antonio Mothers Branch hosted an Advent Day of Reflection that included a reflection by Sister Virginia Riedl, individual and group activities, door prizes, lunch and procession to the Cor Unum in Patre Shrine for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The reflection day opened with the lighting of the Advent candle for the First Sunday of Advent by Martha Saucedo as the women joined together in prayer.
In attendance this year were some very special guests. Sr. Mary Agnes (soon to turn 100 years old) and Sr. Antoinette (98), Sisters of the Benedictine Order traveled from Boerne, TX to participate.
Sr. Virginia’s reflection, which was read aloud by Loretta Charles, Rose Osborn, Christine Luna Gonzalez and Edna Salas, was an excellent message of preparation for Advent, and her words resonated with everyone. It was an uplifting, faith-filled and glorious day!
The Mothers Branch provided the participants with supplies and decorative articles to create their own custom-made Advent wreaths. The women very much enjoyed this activity with some deciding to finish their wreaths at home so that they could involve their families.
The women also had the opportunity to write a private letter to the Christ Child.
“We thank our Blessed Mother for making it so enriching and successful,” shared Christine Luna Gonzalez.
