Mothers Branch Update
Mothers Branch hosts Lenten Day of Reflection
Thirty women took part in this day of a spiritual journey held in Kentenich Hall on Sat., Mar. 22. Sister Virginia Riedl from the Confidencia Shrine in Lamar, Texas graced us with a presentation on the Lumen Gentium of Vatican II.
Sr. Virginia stated, “In our Lenten journey, we advance to the house of the Father but without shoving or stepping on each other’s toes (feet).” She added, “Blessed Mother’s unwavering hope and faith carried her through a life of trials.”
Lupita Barrera, a participant, commented, “The strongest message I received was about HOPE and how the Blessed Mother never lost her faith and her hope despite the death of her Son. Our journey through life should be with hope.”
The bilingual sessions included prayers, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Stations of the Cross and a hands-on activity where each woman created an art piece to take home.
The Mothers Branch of our Schoenstatt community plans to sponsor at least two Day of Reflections each year, one for Lent and one for Advent. All women of all ages are welcome to attend.
